Bocadillo de Calamares
/This weekend I enjoyed a new kind of sandwich. A perfect soft roll with fried squid stuffed into it. Bocadillo de calamares is considered a culinary specialty in Spain and the plaza I live near happens to be the location of one of the best places to get one. Bar La Ideal serves my new version of fast food.
Squid, coated lightly in floor, quickly fried, on bread. I like toppings but I don’t yet know how to ask for sliced tomatoes or lettuce or special sauce when they aren’t readily supplied, so I went with the sandwich as is – not even lemon.
And it didn’t need it.
